Chocolate, Linen & Lace
A Stitching Tour in Belgium

September 18th - 22nd, 2008

What a wonderful city to savor chocolate, shop, stitch, relax, and explore! Our trip to Brussels will begin on Brussels - Lace MuseumThursday, September 18th and end on Monday, September 22nd 2008. We will experience all that this lively city has to offer and stitch memories to last a lifetime! We will shop the cobbled lanes, see magnificent tapestries and eat Belgian frites, Belgian waffles, and Belgian chocolate -- and oh yes, there are more varieties of Belgian beer than you could ever imagine!!! We will visit the Lace Museum, Chocolate Museum, and of course we will explore the Hotel de Ville on the Grand Place! What a beautiful city square--just so spectacular! Our trip will also take us to the "fairyland" city of Bruges -- with such charming people, scenic canals, step-gabled buildings, luscious lace, and more fantastic chocolate! This is heaven!

Brussels Town Square

This trip is designed for stitchers and includes four exclusive projects inspired by the cities of Brussels and Bruges. Our projects remain a secret until we meet at our hotel in Brussels but I can share a couple of projects with you ---the "Bruxelles Chocolate Sewing Box" with all the accessories to match and the "Antique Lace Pocket" that features antique lace overlay on silk--what beautiful lace! There is so much to inspire stitching in Brussels/Bruges!

Brussels ShoppingThe trip includes 5 days, 4 nights accommodation with breakfast, tours and transportation within and outside of Brussels. We will have a welcome celebration tea at the famous Dandoy biscuit shop -- their waffles are soooo good and the spicy ginger speculoos are delicious! Lunch will be "on your own" as we will be "on the go" every day and with a quick bite we can see and do so much more. A non-refundable deposit of $750.00 reserves your space now on this exciting stitching trip. The remaining balance is due in full June 30, 2008. However, if for any reason you cannot make the trip and notify me 6 weeks before our trip begins your balance is returned to you. Your deposit cannot be refunded. Please select the cost from the type of stitcher's packages available:
  • Two Stitchers - $2400.00 per person, they share a room and your must have your own roommate (we don't pair up stitchers that don't know each other)
  • One Stitcher - $2700.00 per person, a private room
  • Stitcher with a Non-Stitcher -- $3200.00 per the pair, they share a room--this can be a friend, companion, sister, husband, etc.

Brussels Town Hall FiguresPlease know that only the stitcher is allowed on all tours and transportation, dinners and special attractions and receives the exclusive needlework projects. If you wish the non-stitcher to attend these I suggest selecting the Two Stitchers package and then stitch their needlework projects for them as a gift! We will of course, have the tourist information center available for the non-stitcher to explore.

Brussels Flower MarketPlease send your deposit check (payable to CA Wells) with the notation Brussels 2008 and send to: C.A.Wells, 3617 Harvard Ave., Dallas, Texas 75205. Be sure to provide your address and phone number, email, and the name of your roommate.

Confirmation packets with maps and directions to our hotel and detailed information about our trip and what you need to pack/wear will be sent six weeks before our trip. Your current passport is required to visit Brussels and their currency is the Euro.

We look forward to sharing Brussels with you and stitching memories of this great city! We always have so much fun... If you have any questions please email CA at caeclectic@AOL.com.
